History of World War II
The Second World War touched nearly every corner of the earth and changed the face of the world forever. From the freezing mountains of Norway, to the steamy jungles of the Pacific islands, this bloody conflict took the axis and the allies to the limit of their military capabilities as each side struggled for dominance over wide swaths of territory. Although fought in the air, sea, and land, this war was just as much fought in the laboratory: from the Second World War came huge leaps in scientific and technological know-how that helped usher in the modern world that we know today. As one of the most monumental events in recent human history, World War II provides us with a fascinating story that runs from its foundations in World War I to the sweeping conflicts the spread throughout the globe to its impact on the very course of history.
